Main Task Flat Plans

Main Task Flat Plans
I have created some flat plans to show how my magazine will look.

 FRONT COVER

This is the basic flatplan of my front cover. The Mastehad/Logo of the magazine shall be in the top left corner and rather large so the reader will see the logo. A skyline leads from the side of the masthead and this will advertise either a tour or another artist breaking through. The cover line and subheadings will show which stories are also in the magazine and are to go to the left and will be layered on top of the main image. The Main image takes up a large amount of the cover to show the artist that is involved with the main article. The main coverline will be layered over the top still allowing the image to show through the writing while still being easy to read. A subheading is placed underneath to advertise a short little preveiw of the article. A bubble to the side will also show and offer the magazine has for example a free live studio download. Essential info will go in the bottom right corner.

CONTENTS PAGE

The masthead will be the word contents to show the page but will have the colours of the logo. Underneath the logo a row of subheadings and coverlines advertising other pages will be listed down the side. The main image will be of the main story's artist and will take up the space to the right and smaller images will be below advertising other articles with page numbers on the side.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

The double page layout will have a logo/masthead will be in the top left corner and the main image will fill the entire page. The headline will run just above the story and the text for the story will be below in columns. The two images on the side will be side images and show the artist in different place or in different poses.

  1. Bethany, you have produced your three main task flat plans along with a brief written explanation which includes relevant key media terminology. Again, you could make links to your previous research, suggesting how this has informed your planning. For example, was there a particular magazine or front cover that has influenced your design?
