Describe your idea for the brief:
My
idea is a magazine that explores all genres of music and appeals to all types
of music lovers. This will include a contents page featuring bands and
upcoming stars along with a double page spread about a rising musician. There
will also be a cover photo featuring a picture of the rising musician that
will feature in my double page spread.
|
|
Genre/ sub genre: list similar texts which have
inspired your thoughts
My
magazine was inspired by all the ones I have looked at such as Kerrang! And
NME. These magazines had a mix of rock, indie, alternative rock and such.
They both appealed to many readers and it inspired me to do the same.
|
|
Target audience: gender/ age/ characteristics/
behaviour
My
magazine will be for both male and females and will aim to appeal to
mid-teens and onwards. The characteristics of the magazine will be mature
with slight humour so that it is rather laid back.
|
|
Major conventions I will use
I will have a masthead in the top left hand corner
of my magazine so people know what magazine they’re reading and also a cover
image to show what the main article is about. Cover lines and subheadings
shall be used to feature articles and insights to what is inside the
magazine. There will also be essential detail for collectors and selling
purposes.
|
|
Conventions I may subvert/ change/ not use
I may use a bubble to show special offers or if
there are too many subheadings/coverlines. I will not be using skyline as it
would not look very professional on the style of my cover.
|
|
Original images: what/ where/ what
I will be taking my own images at home, hopefully
outside if the weather is good. These pictures will be of a musician (my
brother) with a guitar. He will be my rising musician.
|
|
Potential difficulties/ Plan B:
Model
might not show up for shoot and the weather could affect the shoot if it is
taken outside.
