I chose these magazine publishers in particular as they did social and music magazines. One in particular is Bauer Magazine who do print three types of music magazine. These will help me approach my work with a new look. These publishers have been going for a while and have sold a large amount of their brands.

Preliminary Task

 

In the preliminary we where told to make a cover and contents page for a school magazine. I did this using Microsoft Publisher and the tools it had to offer.

Here I chose a photo from a previous photo shoot in which we went around the school with a digital camera. The images unfortunately came out rather fuzzy as you can see above. To improve this cover I would use a clearer image and a better bubble that would fit with the theme. My magazine fit it's purpose as it was meant to be a college magazine which I followed even with slight implications and mistakes.

Unfortunately the image for this page as well came out fuzzy and I made a few spelling mistakes that I did not check over before printing. I can improve this by selecting more clearer images and checking my spelling/grammar before finishing.

Coursework Stage 1 Planning

I have planned out what I want to feature in my magazine, these are my initial ideas:

Audience (attitudes and interests)	Music lovers – People who enjoy all types of music.
Outlet (where it can be bought from?)	Stores, newspaper shops and online downloads.
Necessary Information	Barcodes, issue number, price, date.
Selling Point	Multi-cultural and genre magazine that appeals to all ages and styles.
Theme (article)	The theme will be music from all genres and how well they can come together in one magazine.
Images Front Cover	An image/photograph of a musician.
Images Inside	Contents page will have several images of bands and the double page spread will focus on the cover musician.
