Layout:
The layout of this double page takes a more simple approach with taking a pull quote from the article as a title using a mix of capitals and lower case letters as if someone cut the words out of a magazine. The colour scheme follows red, black and white which seems to be the typical choice for many music magazines. The letters in the title are bright white in a dark background mkaing the title more eye catching to the reader. Red is used to highlight important information such as who created the writing and Lily Allen's name. The writing is small and in colums to allow more focus to be on the main image to the side and the title above. Themain image to the side fits with the layout.
Image:
There's only one main image in this double page spread and it is of the main person who is in the article, Lily Allen. She follows the colur scheme with her makeup and clothing. Her makeup and hair is dark/black matching the title and her shirt is red matching the main information of peoples names which is also in red.
Language:
The pull quote is made out of cut up black blocks to make it look like someone has cut up a newspaper article to create the title.
Layout:
The layout of this double paged spread is has a main image that covers the left side and a bit of the right. The bands name takes up as the masthead and a theme of black, blue and white. Dropcaps appears at the start of both paragraphs and the writing is in two columns with a small pull quote through one and a half of the text.Image:
The image is of the band and takes up a lot of the double page so the reader knows it is the main focus. The way in which they are posed is serious and almost rock like. The colours are washed out and the clothes have sort of a retro feel to them pushing them more to the category of indie-rock or alternative-rock.
Language:
The article is well informing and includes a pull quote. "We are a pop band and we want to be a pop band." This lets us know that the band is more into pop music and allows the reader to understand that they won't be anything else.
Layout:
The Layout of this double page spread is the same as the ones above with text on one side while a main image on the other. The colour theme is a basic black and white which differs from the image which is mainly blues. A bubble advertising where they are performing next and the paragraphs have drop capping at the beginning of each paragraph.
Images:
The image shows the band that are being talked about in the article who are known as The Arctic Monkeys. They all are dressed in blue which differs from the theme of black and white which is on the article.
Language:
The article is not very useful and includes speach from a youtube video rather than an actual interveiw so what is said by Alex Turner is out of context.

Bethany, you have deconstructed three double page spreads, showing your awareness of the various elements. Again, you could have made comparisions between your chosen articles, as well as summarising your research and stating how this might inform your own double page spread design. I would also suggest reading some magazine articles and perhaps deconstructing a few in order to prepare for your own DPS piece.
